Motivation? What's your MOTIVE?

You
know, some days, it is just difficult to get going. Like everything you
do is moving in reverse or worse not moving at all. Ever feel like your
"get up and go" got up and left??? I have plenty of days like that. I am not going to lie to you!
Especially on cloudy days, man, that is the worst for me! Seems I
piddle here and piddle there, and well, just give out. Notice, I said
'give out' not GIVE IN. And this is where the difference lies.
You see, when I have one of those days, much like today, I start out
by making out a list. On that list I catEgorize the "have to do list"
and the "must do list." Now, the "have to do list" has a little
flexibility in it. It can be broken down into days or time frames.
Then, there's the "must do list." I never forget to place something important on that list.  I always write something on that list positive to reflect on while I am
weeding through the remainder of the other things on the list like
housework, grocery shopping, mowing the grass. etc. And while I am
doing those other "not so fun" things, I think about that positive
affirmation telling myself it over and over. Speaking kindly to the
person I have to be with the most: MYSELF.
Something magical happens. Clouds start to dissapate. Things get accomplished. The lists get shorter. And I feel better.
Here's hoping your cloudy days are wrapped with SUNBEAMS.
Big hugs 2 U! Teri

are the bestasest! Without a doubt, there will always be some kind of hurdle or obstacle. Excellent advice and finding the positive (no matter how big/small) will keep the good energy around you. There are just some things we have no control over, but making an effort to find the good things, especially in yourself is guaranteed to always keep your spirits high. You ROCK Sassyonyx!

It all goes back to

THOUGHTS  and HOW you think, what you think are the key to everything. Kinda like reprograming a computer....you wouldn't do it if you liked the way it was running in the first place.
There's a BIG difference between the "blues" and "clinical depression," George. In the question of death, a person has to allow themselves time to "grieve." But that too, goes back to THOUGHTS.
Dying is the easy part, living is the hardest.

If you sit around feeling sorry for the life you are given, then, well, you are wasting the life you are given. The key word there is YOU.
No one can change a person's life but the PERSON.
Motivation, at some point, HAS to come for within. Everyone has problems, but if their focus is always on the 'problem' then they are missing out on finding a 'solution.'
Hope that answers your question.
If this is a personal question, read some Wayne Dyer books....or better yet, play them over and over from the books on cd and let your mind absorb what it hears.
Best,
Teri

How Do You Get Over The Slump ?

Ok Teri once again excellent post. So sorry to answer your question with a question but on your worst day what makes you workout ?
I have found out that all sterotypes do not fit the same mole. In some cases people use food to forget the pain caused by an event be it the loss of a child or going through a divorce. it stripps them of their motivation
Even when their health is @ risk they have lost their fire. Thanks again Teri for sharing your story
