FAITH

Mona Liza Reyes's picture

Being mentally and spiritually healthy is just as important as being
physically healthy as well. The following quote I share with you is
taken from the Bible:"Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." Hebrew 11:1 Regardless
of your goals; No matter how far out of reach it may seem. Never lose

"Hold on, while I pull up my pants.."

Hehe.. That's what my 10am client said to me as she was in between sets and had to stop a quick second to pull up her pants :) I noticed that these were the same pants she wore when we 1st started training together 1 month ago, when they were much more snug. But I had to ask just to confirm that they were the same pair and she shyly admitted they were with an ear to ear smile on her face.

Just in case you didn't notice..

2 "new" videos posted this week :) My "most proudest" moment during my competitive career, winning the title of Ms. California at the NPC California Figure/Bodybuilding Championships. Of course I had to give praise, but didn't accept my award 'til AFTER I did "the robot"! LOL

ACCOUNTABILITY

If I got a dollar for everytime I heard this word from an existing/potential client OR anytime I've used this word when speaking to an existing/potential client, I would have OODLES and OODLES of dollars! Ideally, we all know what to do, what not to do when it comes to achieving our fitness goals. It all seems relatively simple: exercise and eat healthy, right? So why does it seem so hard?!

23 years later and I still had butterflies in my stomach

I felt kind of silly posting this blog, because I thought I would normally keep a "theme" of keeping my blogs related to health/fitness and somewhat MO'tivational. This past weekend, while I was at the ASR Tradeshow/Expo, I had the opportunity to meet my crush when I was 9 years old, pro-skateboarder Steve Caballero. Before leaving for San Diego, I had actually hoped to meet him, along with my "other crush" Christian Hosoi, but meeting Mr. Caballero was more than GOOD ENOUGH.

Passion is AGELESS

The past few days, I was in San Diego for the ASR Expo (Action Sports Retailers). One of my sponsors Sweenie www.sweenie.net flew me in to represent their team of athletes. I've worked tradeshows before and although it's an 8 hour day, cooped up in a convention center I am one of the weird ones that truly enjoy working these events because it's an opportunity to meet new people and help promote a company that has believed in me.

Keeping Fit While Traveling

Tomorrow I leave for San Diego for the Action Sports Retailer Expo www.asrbiz.com; one of my sponsors Sweenie www.sweenie.net is flying me out and their other female athletes to represent the company. The ASR Expo, from what I hear is a super-fun 3 day event where professional athletes and retailers in the Skateboarding and Surfing industry come together. I expect to be a fun-filled 3 days, but that doesn't mean that my daily fitness routine changes. Going through my checklist of what to pack and what to do:

BLESSING in the PRESSING

I remember hearing this phrase last year, 3 weeks out before a National show. Hearing the word "press" I automatically thought weightlifting; shoulder PRESS, bench PRESS, leg PRESS.... you get the picture. I heard the phrase while tuning into a Sunday morning gospel radio show on my way to the gym. This phrase stands out to me, as I think many of us can relate, regardless of our spiritual backgrounds.

Make it SO

As I came home from training, I quickly prepare and scarf down my 1st meal of the day: 6 egg whites, 1 whole egg and a 1/2 cup of oatmeal made with water and 2 packets of Splenda. "Blah" is the 1st word that comes to mind, but I have to keep in mind that in order to achieve my goal it takes sacrafice and giving up some of the things you want, in order to achieve what you need. :)

Eeny, Meeny, Miny, MO

I remember a time in my life, when I based many decisions by this method, "Eeny, Meeny, Miny, MO". Choosing where to eat, where to go, what color lipstick to buy and even if I was going to make it in the gym or not. :) As I get a little older and a little MO'wiser, I realize that every decision I make has a direct impact in my life and I have the power to create the enviroment of my choosing.
