7 Years as a "Girl on the Run"
Posted March 4th, 2010 by Mona Liza ReyesThis week, I started my 1st day of my 7th year as a volunteer coach. for Girls on the Run www.girlsontherun.org.
As we sat in a large circle, one by one, we all introduced ourselves and why we're a part of Girls on the Run. I started my intro as "My name is Mona Liza Reyes. Also known as coach Momo and I've been a volunteer coach for 7 years." I couldn't help but laugh out loud because the thought occurred to me that I've been coaching since the year that some of these girls were barely born! The ages of the girls I coach ranges from 8 - 11 years old (3rd - 5th grade)
JUST DO YOU
Posted February 26th, 2010 by Mona Liza ReyesInspired by the timeless "Just Do It." campaign by Nike.
I found it appropriate to share these simple 3 words as a reminder to everyone.
In the past, I have been guilty of trying to please everyone. Wanting so much to make everyone happy and compromising my own joy. I worried alot about what others thought or said about me. And as a result of that,I've wasted time thinking about things I want to say, to do, become and accomplish.
Everything I am, is from the heart. Everything I do, is from the heart.

Calorie Counting Label Reading And Eating Less
Posted January 26th, 2010 by georgeOk i now hold the worlds record for longest title of a blog. Lately i have found myself label reading more then ever keep in mind some of the ingridents I have never heard ohf.however from what I have learned from others is that you stay away from salt and sugar
Just wondering if reading all labels is a waste of time or should we bee learned reading everything ? I have found out that eating less is a big part of being healthy, Also confessI must that the labels @ times are confusing salt content sugar, calories per serving and trans fat (what is that?)

If You're Not Growing... You're Dying
Posted January 8th, 2010 by Mona Liza ReyesSounds kind of sad when I say it outloud. But in my opinion, it's the honest truth.
We all have a choice. Some of the choices we make are never "easy", but we make them with faith that although it's a hard process to go through.. in the end, we'll be okay. We have to believe that when we push forward.. whether in accomplishing a health/fitness goal, leaving a job or moving on from a relationship, that although it's difficult to leave a "comfort zone" - it's all for a greater good.
